Our journey began with a personal struggle. In his final year of medical school, our founder Sarv Kannapiran was diagnosed with GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). Like so many others, he was prescribed proton pump inhibitors (PPIs)—a standard treatment for acid reflux. However, as a medical student, he understood the risks of long-term PPI use, including its potential side effects. He wanted a better, more natural solution.

Determined to find an alternative, he spent countless hours researching medical literature, analyzing clinical trials, and uncovering the underappreciated power of alginate therapy. After formulating what would later become Refluxter, he experienced firsthand its ability to provide rapid, effective relief—without interfering with natural digestion or causing unwanted side effects.
